چکیده
The most common malignancy of the head and neck region is “oral squamous cell carcinoma” (OSCC) because its low survival rate increasing incidence in some geographic areas. The process invasion metastasis, which noted cancers, requires loss cell-to-cell attachment. It therefore important to identify a marker that would help identification lesions acquire ability transform into OSCC. Cell-to-cell adhesion motility are monitored by E-cadherin; associated with OSCC progression. Early detection, proper analysis, correct handling oral potentially malignant disorder (OPMD) beneficial preventing Thus, purpose present study expression determine role E-cadherin OPMD OSCC.

Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor Expression in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Immunohistochemical Technique and its Correlation with Clinicopathological Features
Background:Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most common malignancy of the oral cavity. Despite some improvements in treatment, the survival rate is still very low, mainly due to the possible development of secondary malignancy or metastasis. Clinical and pathological features as well as molecular biomarkers might predict the recurrence. In recent years, many studies ...
متن کاملAssessment of Bax and Bcl-2 Immunoexpression in Patients with Oral Lichen Planus and Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Lichen planus (LP) is a chronic inflammatory disease of probable immune-based etiology. The pathogenesis of LP is unclear, but apoptotic changes in epidermal (epithelial) cells have been reported. Destruction of the basal cell layer is observed and many changes in cell proliferation, cell repair and cell death occur in the injured mucosal epithelium. The aim of this study was to evaluate and co...
متن کاملestimation of serum β2-microglobulin in potentially malignant disorders and squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity: a clinicopathological study
background: tumor markers are substances, which quantitatively changes in serum, during the tumor development, one such tumor marker is serum β2-microglobulin (β2-m). the aim of this study was to establish the role of β2-m as a biochemical parameter for diagnosis and prognosis of oral carcinoma by estimation of serum β2-m levels in potentially malignant lesions, conditions, and oral squamous ce...
متن کاملquantitative immunoexpression of egfr in oral potentially malignant disorders: oral leukoplakia and oral submucous fibrosis
background and aims. many oral squamous cell carcinomas develop from potentially malignant disorders (pmds) which include a variety of lesions and conditions characterized by an increased risk for malignant transformation. this study evaluated the quantitative expression of egfr in normal oral mucosa, oral leukoplakia and oral submucous fibrosis to predict the malignant risk in compliance with ...
متن کاملPrevalence of salivary epstein-barr virus in potentially malignant oral disorders and oral squamous cell carcinoma
BACKGROUND To analyze the presence of salivary Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA in oral squamous cell carcinoma and potentially malignant oral disorders. MATERIAL AND METHODS Three groups were studied: Group 1 (12 oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC)), Group 2 (12 potentially malignant oral disorders (PMD)) and Group 3 (47 healthy controls). EBV DNA salivary analysis was performed by PCR. RESUL...
